Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, India: On the second day of the 4th State-Level Buddhist Conference, held at Tapobhoomi Oxyzone Mohara, Rusen Kumar, a prominent social leader, author, and CSR advocate, had a significant meeting with Vipassana Meditation Master Dr. Ashin Ottamathara from Myanmar. पूज्य भदन्त डा. आशिन ओत्तामाथारा महाथेरो.
The conference, which began on November 7, brought together thousands of Buddhist monks, devotees, and followers from around the world, including representatives from Myanmar and Vietnam.
During his visit to the Buddhist Vihara in Rajnandgaon on November 8, Rusen Kumar engaged in meaningful conversations with monks and devotees. The highlight of the visit was his meeting with Master Dr. Ashin Ottamathara, who leads the ThaBarWa Nature Meditation Center in Thanlyin Tsp., Yangon Division, Myanmar.
Their discussion revolved around Master Dr. Ashin Ottamathara’s mission to promote Vipassana meditation and foster mindfulness and spiritual development worldwide.
Rusen Kumar and Master Dr. Ashin Ottamathara shared their perspectives on Buddhist teachings, focusing on compassion, peace, and the role of meditation practices in achieving self-realization. The exchange highlighted their shared vision of promoting global harmony through mindfulness and intercultural dialogue.
The 4th State-Level Buddhist Conference served as a gathering point for Buddhists from various countries to discuss spiritual matters and cultural exchange. Tapobhoomi Oxyzone Mohara, located on the tranquil banks of the Shivnath River, provided an ideal setting for reflection and dialogue. Rusen Kumar’s interaction with Master Dr. Ashin Ottamathara emphasized the importance of bridging diverse cultural philosophies to foster global peace and understanding.
Rusen Kumar Presents Books
During their meeting, Rusen Kumar presented Master Ottamathara with three of his books: “Your Philosophy Determines Your Income Not The Economy,” “India@100 Resurgent Bharat – Blueprint for 2027,” and “Power of Reading.” Rusen Kumar explained the essence of these works: “Your Philosophy Determines Your Income Not The Economy explains the role of individual mindset and perspective in economic success, underlining the key to prosperity through one’s thoughts and attitudes. India@100 Resurgent Bharat – Blueprint for 2027 outlines a strategic plan for transforming India into a prosperous and empowered nation by 2027, delving into various aspects of development and the strategies needed.”
In return, Master Ottamathara presented Rusen Kumar with two of his own books: “The Lectures of Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Ottamathara” (2023) and “Collecting Bodhi Leaves – A Collection of Some Dhamma Talks During the Summer Meditation Retreat in Bodhgaya, India, Vassa 2024.” These books reflect Master Dr. Ashin Ottamathara’s profound teachings and insights on Dhamma and meditation.
Master Dr. Ashin Ottamathara invited Rusen Kumar to collaborate further on initiatives aimed at spreading mindfulness and meditation practices in India. Rusen Kumar expressed his admiration for Master Ottamathara’s lifelong commitment to the spiritual well-being of people across borders, emphasizing the need for more such exchanges to foster interconnectedness and mutual growth.

The respected Buddhist monk and meditation teacher Venerable Dr. Ashin Ottamathara is currently one of the most famous in Myanmar and around the world, specializing in teaching Vipassana Meditation in the Theravada Buddhist tradition. He is not only fluent in English but also has interdisciplinary knowledge in many fields, being named “Tsunami Vipassana Meditation Master” for his “excellent” and “rare” teaching; and “superior” religious commitment. He specializes in self-transformation and vows to fully propagate the path with the attitude of doing all kusala indiscriminately, calmly, and in harmony with all faculties. He is also famous for his great loving-kindness.
Vipassana meditation is basically popular in schools in Myanmar. His Vipassana meditation guiding practice is skillful in both knowledge and practice.
